The Ecclesbourne Valley Railway Association is an organisation of enthusiastic volunteer members who are working with WyvernRail plc to re-open the Wirksworth to Duffield railway line and to see it in use for the greater enjoyment of all railway enthusiasts and citizens and businesses in the surrounding area.
The valley is an unspoiled area of countryside, some 10 miles in length, at the southern end of the Derbyshire Peak District. It is in close proximity to Matlock and Bakewell, Chatsworth House, Carsington Reservoir, Ashbourne, Dovedale, the City of Derby and many other places of attraction to visitors.
